The Whirlwind Community
Whirlwind Community is located four miles north of Columbus, NM, which is near the Mexico border. The Pranayama Institute is, along with Sankara Saranam and his family of benefactors, the largest shareholder in Whirlwind. The Community is now being designed along self-sustainability ideals, using methods from Permaculture, Holistic Management, Key Line, and ZERI.
Whirlwind is also the ascetic training ground founded and lead by Sankara Saranam. Training follows his teachings on pranayama as discussed in his book, God Without Religion.
Plans are also in the works to provide classes on Whirlwind on sustainable agricultural development from some of the top names in the field.
